Archon Wilson Wright, Jr. Awarded Fellowship In American College of Dentists
Dr. Wilson Wright, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists during its 2007 Annual Meeting and Convocation in San Francisco, California.
Archon Wright is former President of the Alabama Dental Society (ALDS) and State Chief Dental Officer and Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard. He holds membership in the American Dental Association, National Dental Association and is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International Association and Academy of General Dentistry. Wright is also a member of the New Pilgrim Baptist Church Towers Board of Directors. He is presently a Professor of Dentistry, Director of Diagnostic Science, Director of Student Dental Health and Dental Assistants Programs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry.
The American College of Dentists, founded in 1920, is the oldest national honorary organization for dentists. The mission of the College is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism and leadership in dentistry. Fellowship in the organization is by invitation and based on demonstrated leadership and contributions to the dental profession and society. Approximately 3.5% of dentists are Fellows of the American College of Dentists.
Archon Wright is a member of Beta Kappa Boulé. He is married to Archousa Malera Wright and they have three children.
